Weekend Wrap Up

Friday

Hubby and I watched Up in the Air; another movie based on a novel. It has an interesting plot and it sparked some realizations in my head…

My backpack… I have in it: my immediate family, my pet dog, my huge clan, my large circle of friends, my job, the thingamajigs I have bought with my little salary, photos, letters, gifts, sentiments that i have collected over 9 years of being in a long-distance relationship. My backpack; my life.

I left my backpack in the PI when I left to get married. No problem, I can start over. I filled my new backpack with new things learned, fun times with hubby, new gifts, new stuff, the place we call our home, domesticated joy, discoveries of a new wife, dreams, lots of dreams…

But fate’s trying to snatch my backpack again. I’m not sure if I can live with that; if I can go through the same loss again without losing my mind. :’(

Saturday

Driving to my in-laws’ place in So. SF, we saw a teardrop RV on the freeway. It is so cute! But is also lacking ample space. I can’t imagine myself living there for days. But maybe it has more promise when it’s rolled out and the accessories, like outdoor chairs, are all in use.
